He is a getting another Isuzu from me (a Gemini Irmscher R) and he came to say hi before we ship the car out! I also had a couple car to do walk-around and test drives of, so I thought it’d be interesting to get him to do the video instead of me for once! Enjoy! (Test drive with him at the wheel starts at the 5 minutes mark)
(The car is already sold and leaving to Georgia!)

You are doing a lot of good business to Georgia. Part of my plan today is to do some messing with the Mini.

Just finished the video. Look d like good fun and a cool van.
My plan is to drive it! Delta has a big car show at our company picnic and I want to take it to that in May and June there is the Hot Rod Power Tour. We did it a couple of years ago with my Evo. I think it would be fun to take 998cc’ to a multi day car tour mainly focused on muscle cars.
Ive got new tires ordered. The ones on it have plenty of tread, but are like 8 years old and the sidewalks are cracking. I ordered new fender flares, but they had a manufacturing flaw and the vendor is figuring it out. I need to figure out how to get a choke cable to the carb. That really helps starts. I’ve been rigging it up when I start it. I am still struggling with getting the carb to run well. It’s happy wide open, but doesn’t like lower revs. From what I read that is just how these Weber’s like things. Tempted to go back in with a more standard SU setup.
My wife and I are doing some serious work to our house, including adding a much larger garage. I could see bringing another car over when that is done.

That’s a pretty cool van. Got a couple questions, one about the van, the other about something unrelated that I spotted in the video.
About the van, which engine does it have? Not related to the van, I saw that there was a red car (Auris, perhaps?) that was backing into a parking spot with it’s four-way flashers on. Is that a common thing in Japan? Because I know we don’t do that in passenger cars here in the US (but probably should, especially in parking garages and at night).

The engine is a Toyota 5K-U pulling maybe 70hp at best :)
As for backing up into spots with the flashers, yeah, they often do that... They also back into ALL parking spots, some faster than other, creating congestions on parking lots all the time...

That thing was fun. I’d never buy one, but I can appreciate the awesomeness!

Interesting about the Kadett/Gemini/Chevette is that they are all based on the GM T-Car platform, which was engineered with assistance from Isuzu. So, Irmscher tuning later model Isuzus was a logical step! There’s actually some really cool Irmscher Isuzus out there:
Irmscher Piazza
Irmscher Aska Turbo
Irmscher Bighorn/Trooper
Irmscher Gemini (Early)
Irmscher Gemini (Late)
I’m sure I missed a few, but Isuzu had plenty of tuned up turbocharged monsters!
